Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits

Red Lobster Cheddar Biscuits are a great accompaniment to a seafood meal. The official name of the real thing are Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits, and they are melt in your mouth good. With just enough garlic to give a taste, without overpowering, and a delicious flavour of cheese, these just hit the spot. This is the copycat version of the top-secret Red Lobster biscuit recipe.

2 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
1 cup cheddar cheese, finely grated
3/4 cut milk
2 Tbsp butter
1/8 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dried parsley flakes
salt

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Melt 2 Tbsp butter in the microwave or over low heat.

Pour the milk into a large bowl. Stir in the melted butter. Add the grated cheese and stir until it is thoroughly coated with the milk and butter mixture. Add the Bisquick and 1/8 tsp of garlic powder to the mixture. Mix well, until it is a dough-like. There should be no lumps in the dough.

In a separate bowl, combine the Bisquick 2. Combine Bisquick with cheddar cheese, milk, 2 tablespoons of butter that has been melted in the microwave, and 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder in a medium bowl. Mix until well-combined.

Using a tablespoon, or an ice-cream scoop, drop the dough into biscuit-sized portions onto an ungreased cookie sheet. The standard size used at the restaurant is 1/4 cup of dough per biscuit. You can increase or decrease this is you like larger or smaller biscuits, but then you will need to increase the baking time if you do larger ones, to ensure they cook through the middle, or decrease it if you do smaller ones, to ensure they don't burn.

Mix the remaining quarter-cup of butter with 1/2 tsp garlic powder, the parsley flakes, and a dash of salt. Combine well. Brush this on top of each biscuit.

Bake for 14-16 minutes for the standard size biscuit, or until the top of the biscuits are a golden brown.

These are best served warm. They go with any kind of seafood, but you all know my preference!
