Microwave Lobster

Yes, you can microwave lobster! Cooking in the microwave is the fastest way if you are only cooking one lobster.

When cooking lobster in the microwave, you do need to cut the rubber bands off. Put the lobster in a microwave safe plastic bag, with about 2 Tbsp dry white wine and a few lemon wedges. Close the bag and put it in the microwave.

Cook for 6 minutes for 1 lb, and an additional minute for each extra 1/4 lb. Wait a few minutes after cooking is done before opening the microwave. Be careful not to burn yourself when you open the bag. It's also a good idea to rinse the lobster off before serving it.

Serve with drawn butter. Crack as described in how to eat lobster. Only difference is that the tomalley will be an unappetizing consistency. Which may not matter, since despite how much I like it, tomalley may not be safe to eat.
